BIOGRAPHY
Vana Beginin has a Master of Arts in Education from Wayne State University and has thought Art Education and English as a Second Language in Wayne County Schools and Wayne Community Collages.
She has also presented art and language/culture seminars at Eastern Michigan and Flint Schools. Vana Beginin has done Illustrations for the Detroit Public Schools, the Detroit News, and the International Institute of Metropolitan Detroit.
Her artwork covers a wide range of subjects that include Portraits, Contemporary Scenes, Nature, Animals - Pets themes in oil, acrylics, and mixed media.
Vana Beginin had several one-person exhibitions, and many of her works are in private collections.
ARTIST STATEMENT
“When I am visually impressed with an object, landscape, or a person’s appearance, I feel compelled to record that impression. That is how I start my creative process. The initial impression is then recorded and furthermore changed and altered. There’s no way to predict the outcome because creative process is in perpetual flux.”
Vana Beginin had several one-person exhibitions,
and many of her works are in private collections.
She began exhibiting her art work in the early 1980’s and has participated and received prestigious awards and honorable mentions in the following exhibits (partial list):
